It’s possible that Mrs. Sparhawk took grades (i.e. wrote scores in her grade book) for the D.O.L. today. Please ask her if she did. If so, you need to go to a box in the make-up work center that says “extra D.O.L.” and get a worksheet from this box. You can take this home and do it as homework, but don’t forget to turn it in when you return to school tomorrow.

We wrote our assignments in our agendas today, too. The agenda guide is on the right-hand side of the whiteboard in  Mrs. Sparhawk’s classroom. Copy the assignments into your agenda (planner), please.

Mrs. Sparhawk handed out a new vocabulary list today entitled Patriotic Vocabulary List 21E. If you need the vocabulary list sheet, you can either download it here (using the link I just gave you) or you can find one in the Tuesday box in the make-up work center, at the back of Mrs. Sparhawk’s classroom. Do you need to see the definitions? Just try clicking on the “Vocabulary” link at the top of this page!

If time allowed, we continued to write the first draft of our Patriot’s Pen essays today. If you were absent today and would like more time to work on your first draft, please set an official appointment to come in at lunch or after school to work on your first draft. You may not take your first draft home, as that would disqualify you from winning the contest. (Parents can’t help us with the essays at all…) We need to try to have our first drafts finished by Thursday this week.
