It’s possible that Mrs. Sparhawk took grades on the D.O.L. (grammar assignment) today. Please ask her if she did. If so, you need to go to a box in the make-up work center that says “Extra D.O.L.” and get a worksheet from this box. You can take this home and do it as homework, but don’t forget to turn it in when you return to school.

We were given a new spelling/vocabulary list last week, and we need to be bringing these home to study. Extra copies of the spelling/vocabulary list are in the Tuesday box, in the make-up work center. Our next spelling/vocabulary test will be over Poetry Vocabulary List 4G. (Click the link to see the full list.) Our spelling/vocabulary test is scheduled for TOMORROW, November 3, 2011.

Everyone turned in their harvest/Thanksgiving/fall poems today. You need to turn yours in too. Please turn in all of the following:

  • The “Getting Ready to Write” rhyme table and webs
  • The first draft of their poem (written on notebook paper)
  • Their first draft must have at least five proofreading symbols  to show that it has been edited
  • A final draft written in ink (or typed) on the back of a graphic image (provided by the teacher)
  • A six traits form (found in the Wednesday box)–remember to put your name on this!

If you were absent on Monday, you didn’t get a chance to write a story with us. Extra copies of the story writing assignment are in the Monday box. Take one home and complete it, so you can participate in scoring these with the rest of the class.

Thanks for checking in with clipboards.wordpress.com!
