lesson plan for peer editingStudents: it’s possible that Mrs. Sparhawk took grades on the D.O.L. (grammar assignment) today. Please ask her if she did. If so, it’s now possible to download a D.O.L. makeup sheet right here on Clipboards. Just click on the “Assignments” button at the top and download one of the D.O.L. makeup assignments. (Or you can just get one from the makeup work center at school.)

Parents: the spelling test is this Friday. Encourage students to bring home their vocabulary list to study! But remember, if they forget their list, you can look right here on Clipboards for those definitions. Just click on the page entitled “Vocabulary Lists” at the top.

There were two different lessons today, during class:

  1. Students who didn’t finish the first draft of their essay last week were supposed to take it home and finish it over the weekend, but if they didn’t they spent today’s class period getting it written.
  2. For everyone who did have a finished first draft, we used a thesaurus to improve our word choice on that essay. The first draft is officially due tomorrow.
