Students: it’s possible that Mrs. Sparhawk took grades on the D.O.L. (grammar assignment) today. Please ask her if she did. If so, it’s now possible to download a D.O.L. makeup sheet right here on Clipboards. Just click on the “Assignments” button at the top and download one of the D.O.L. makeup assignments. (Or you can just get one from the makeup work center at school.)
Parents: the spelling test is this tomorrow. If the student forgot their list, you can look right here on Clipboards for those definitions. Just click on the page entitled “Vocabulary Lists” at the top.
Today’s lesson went like this:
- Everyone who had a finished first draft was given ten points for editing with the class. Students who were absent were excused from group editing, but they’ll need to ask a classmate to edit their paper so they will also have proofreading symbols on their first draft. Proofreading symbols are worth points, when we finally turn in all of our drafts.
- Everyone who didn’t have an essay written got a chance to finish their essay during today’s class. If they finished before the end of the class period, they were given partial credit for their LATE first draft (it was due Tuesday) and credit for participating in editing.
- If you were absent, here’s the Powerpoint presentation we used for our peer editing. You can look it over so you understand what to look for when editing too:
