Students: it’s possible that Mrs. Sparhawk took grades on the D.O.L. (grammar assignment) today. Please ask her if she did. If so, you need to go to a box in the make-up work center that says “Extra D.O.L.” and get a worksheet to make that up or download a D.O.L. sheet from this site (under Assignments).

Mrs. Sparhawk has graded last Friday’s spelling/vocabulary tests, and the results indicate that we need more practice with Writing Vocabulary List 20 (Nonfiction Reading and Writing Terms). Therefore, we won’t be given a new vocabulary list this week. Instead, everyone will have an opportunity to change their score on last week’s spelling/vocabulary test, when we take the test again this Friday. Parents, please encourage kids to study this time, if they didn’t study last week. Remember, if the student forgets to bring home his/her vocabulary list, you can find the words and definitions right here, at this link.

Remember the essays we edited last week? We’re using the editorial comments from last week to guide us as we revise (re-write correctly) our essays about our favorite stuff! That’s our plan for this week. Mrs. Sparhawk will collect the following items on Thursday, December 15, 2011:

  • your outline
  • your well-edited first draft
  • your final draft of the “favorites” essay

Thanks for checking in with Clipboards!
