Students: it’s possible that Mrs. Sparhawk took grades on the D.O.L. (grammar assignment) today. Please ask her if she did. If so, it’s now possible to download a D.O.L. makeup sheet right here on Clipboards. Just click on the “Assignments” button at the top and download one of the D.O.L. makeup assignments. (Or you can just get one from the makeup work center at school.)

On Tuesday, February 7, Mrs. Sparhawk handed out a new vocabulary list. These fifty words and their definitions were collected today, for a grade. If the student was absent today, Mrs. Sparhawk follows the attendance policy as it’s printed in the student agenda (so if you were gone one day, you have one extra day to turn things in; if you were gone two days, you get two days to turn things in; etc.), but if students weren’t absent on the day this assignment was due, they will be docked ten points for each late day. So get it turned in RIGHT AWAY, boys and girls! Mrs. Sparhawk can give you an immediate grade, if you turn it in during the D.O.L., so that you’ll have it to take home and study.

The students will be given a vocabulary test over these 50 words on Friday, February 17. They need to know:

  • how to say the words
  • how to spell the words
  • a general definition for each word

Because there are so many words this time, I suggest they study these words tonight and tomorrow night.
