Today’s word card was compare. On your Vocabulary Word Cards worksheet, you’ll need to fill out the syllable breaks, definition, part of speech, and sentence portion of your word card, but you are welcome to copy today’s drawing from one of your classmates’ word card worksheets.

Mrs. Sparhawk’s reading students checked out Nancy Drew Mysteries or Hardy Boys Mysteries at the library last week. If you were absent when we did this, ask Mrs. Sparhawk if you can go to the library to check out a Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys mystery of your own. On Friday, March 16, you’ll need to turn in a mystery book report form. (She’ll give out those forms the week that book reports are due.) Be sure you pick a story that you can finish reading in three weeks’ time. It must be a Nancy Drew or Hardy Boys mystery.

We didn’t earn a reading sticker today, because after our library time, we got into study groups to prepare for the upcoming test over Treasure Island. If you’d like a copy of the handout we used as a study guide, just ask Mrs. Sparhawk for one.
