preparing students for standardized tests

Students: it’s possible that Mrs. Sparhawk took grades on the D.O.L. (grammar assignment) today. Please ask her if she did. If so, it’s now possible to download a D.O.L. makeup sheet right here on Clipboards. Just click on the “Assignments” button at the top and download one of the D.O.L. makeup assignments. (Or you can just get one from the makeup work center at school.)

We worked on our folklore essays today. If you were absent and need time to make this up, set an appointment to come in at lunch or after school to get your work done. We’ll continue to work on folklore essays (the first draft) through Friday this week.

Parents: Please note that TOMORROW is the day when most of our students take the ISAT (state standardized test). It’s important to get plenty of sleep the night before testing.  Because of the upcoming ISATs, I won’t be giving a vocabulary list at all this week.

Also parents: Are you aware that students have been assigned a “classic novel” to read for extra credit? Click this link (or the Shakespeare icon in the sidebar) to take you to the page where extra credit can be turned in electronically.
