Students: it’s possible that Mrs. Sparhawk took grades on the D.O.L. (grammar assignment) today. Please ask her if she did. If so, it’s now possible to download a D.O.L. makeup sheet right here on Clipboards. Just click on the “Assignments” button at the top and download one of the D.O.L. makeup assignments. (Or you can just get one from the makeup work center at school.)

Parents: we were given a new vocabulary list on Tuesday. All of this year’s vocabulary words and their definitions are right here on Clipboards. Just click on the page entitled “Vocabulary Lists” at the top. On Thursday, May 17, 2012, students will be given a final exam over the key vocabulary words we’ve learned throughout the year. So it’s a good idea to go through the student’s pocket folder and make sure he/she has all of these vocabulary words and their definitions copied down. You might want to go over some of the older vocabulary words with students, as well, to refresh their memories.

Students: if you need a new vocabulary list, you can find one in the Tuesday box, if you’re at school.

Today we practiced using this week’s vocabulary words in our writing, as we did a story swap assignment. The idea here, is to encourage students to apply their vocabulary words  in their creative writing assignments.
