Patriot's Pen Writing Contest rules and guidelines

It’s possible that Mrs. Webmaster took grades (i.e. wrote scores in her grade book) for the D.O.L. today. Please ask her if she did. If so, you need to go to a box in the make-up work center that says “extra D.O.L.” and get a worksheet from this box. You can take this home and do it as homework, but don’t forget to turn it in when you return to school tomorrow. If you’re reading this at home, you can download and print a D.O.L. from the Assignments page.

Today we made a flowchart for the Patriot’s Pen essay contest.  (See link for details–you can win money!) If you don’t know how to make a flowchart, take a look at the “Writing Process” bulletin board near the classroom door. There’s a sample flowchart posted there.

Remember that our spelling/vocabulary test will be given on Thursday, instead of Friday, due to the upcoming Homecoming parade. Please study the list in preparation for that test. Students should be bringing home a word cluster graphic organizer to help them prepare for this test.
