Today’s word card was celestial. On your Vocabulary Word Cards worksheet, you’ll need to fill out the syllable breaks, definition, part of speech (i.e. noun, verb, adjective, etc.) and sentence portion of your word card, but you are welcome to copy today’s drawing from one of your classmates’ word card worksheets.

Do you need to renew your historical fiction book? If so, please ask Mrs. Webmaster for a hall pass so you can renew your historical fiction book at the library. Then come right back to class.

Mrs. Webmaster handed out our historical fiction book report forms. Please go get one from the make-up work center. These forms must be filled out and turned in by the start of 8th period, on Thursday, October 25, but it’s okay to turn yours in early.

You should ask Mrs. Webmaster if we turned in our sticker sheets, reading logs, or word cards today.

Please be aware that we’ll be taking the Treasure Island final exam on Wednesday and Thursday this week. The test will be collected on Thursday. If you know you’ll be absent on Wednesday or Thursday, please set an official appointment to come in at lunch or after school to make up the day you missed. (This essay test usually takes about 90 minutes to finish, so that’s about one and a half class periods.)
