Map of Treasure Island

If you’re absent this week, you’ll need to make up your missing word cards and journals (which are listed below). You’ll also need to read your library book at home for 30 minutes and have your parent/guardian sign your agenda stating that you did so. Show this to Mrs. Webmaster, and she’ll give you a “reading sticker” for the day(s) you missed. You also need to ask whether or not we turned in word cards, journals, or sticker sheets.

Monday, Dec. 17:

  • Word card = pirate
  • Journal = none
  • We went to the library and checked out a “historical fiction” book, which we’ll need to read over the Christmas break. If you don’t know how to find a “historical fiction” book on your own, Mrs. Smalley can help you find one.

Tuesday, Dec. 18:

  • Word card = gallows
  • Journal = List three pirate idioms, and explain what each one means.

Wednesday, Dec. 19:

  • Word card = plot
  • Journal = Compare your first journal prediction to the actual plot of Treasure Island.

Thursday, Dec. 20:

  • Word card = timeline
  • Journal = What three questions would you ask Silver, if you were to meet him in real life?

Friday, Dec. 21:

  • No class–it was Fun Friday!
