  • sentence fluency
  • organization

Tuesday, Dec. 16: Please look at the “Six Traits of Writing” on page 17 of the “English Handbook Pages.” Copy the words and definitions for the following:

  • word choice
  • conventions
  • voice

Wednesday, Dec. 17: Look up “Parts of Speech” in the “English Handbook Pages,” and give the definitions for the following:

  • noun
  • verb
  • adjective
  • adverb
  • conjunction
  • pronoun
  • preposition
  • interjection

Thursday, Dec. 18: Look on page 5 of the “English Handbook Pages,” under the heading, “E-Mail,” and copy the first rule of e-mail (hint: it deals with the subject heading).

DAILY CLASSROOM ACTIVITIES: 

Monday, Dec. 15: Today we started peer editing our Othello essays. Since you were gone for this, you will need to self-edit quite a bit, to make sure you end up with at least 20 correctly-formed proofreading symbols on your first draft.

Tuesday, Dec. 16: Today we continued peer editing our Othello essays. Since you were gone for this, you will need to self-edit quite a bit, to make sure you end up with at least 20 correctly-formed proofreading symbols on your first draft.

Wednesday, Dec. 17: Today we finished peer editing our Othello essays. Since you were gone for this, you will need to self-edit quite a bit, to make sure you end up with at least 20 correctly-formed proofreading symbols on your first draft.

Thursday, Dec. 18: Today we went to the library. Anyone who was late finishing their essays should have spent our library time self-editing or asking peers to edit with them. Remember that your first draft must have at least 20 correctly-formed proofreading symbols.
